How Route Calculation Works

Plain-English explanation of how metro route results, travel time, transfers, and fare status are calculated.

Network Graph

The route planner models stations as graph nodes and metro segments or walking links as graph edges. Each edge carries line, distance, and travel-time attributes.

The engine chooses practical paths using travel time and transfer costs, then groups consecutive stations into readable line-by-line segments.

Fares And Schedules

Fare results use city-specific fare strategies where verified data is available. Schedule context is shown when GTFS-derived service calendars and departures exist for that city.
